The Buyer role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and scheduling of product to meet internal and external customer demand. Also assist with implementation of all policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and releases purchase orders and change notices to include required specifications, prices, terms and conditions, and other relevant purchasing information
• Updates availability, lead times, and status of ordered goods and services in ERP system
• Continually analyzes inventory situation and/or requirements and delivery commitments in response to demand.
• Prepares and distributes purchasing activity reports.
• Communicates to supplier minimum acceptable standards for quality, delivery, and cost.
• Ensures that suppliers are complying with all contractual requirements.
• Manages suppliers with price discrepancies, non-conforming material, logistics, and other supplier issues.
• Communicates and works with Accounting Department on any payable issues.
• Source new product based on engineering drawings, specifications, and/or BOMs in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• All other duties as assigned.
